Quilting GuidelinesI specialize in free-hand quilting patterns done without drawing a pattern, so there will be subtle differences in motifs within a quilt. Most basic fill patterns will take roughly 12-15 hours for a queen-sized quilt. I often opt for a simple fill in the body of a quilt, with a more interesting border design in the quilting. I may ask you to allow me to try out a new pattern on your quilt in order to determine the time needed for the pattern. In such cases, we agree on a price and I bill you either the actual hours or the agreed price, whichever is lower. Traditional quilting patterns like the feathered border in my letterhead, take much longer. A queen-sized quilt with feathered wreaths, feathered borders and heavily stippling takes over 40 hours to quilt. You can see some examples of my work by going the photo album on this site. Or you can choose from the patterns pictured below. All of these patterns can be used to quilt a full-sized quilt in about 12 hours. Costing only$120.
